Find your Partner

Did you watch Fran Kramer’s presentation at the Virtual Teaching Expo?  She had a fantastic idea called “Find Your Partner” – it’s so simple, but so fun for the kiddos.  I can not wait to get back to school to try it out!  You can do it with all sorts of skills.

All that you need to do is print out these cards and add a little popsicle stick for a handle.  You don’t have to do that part, but I think it makes it SO much more fun!  Pass out the cards to your kiddos and direct them to “find their partner!”

I made a little community helper set for you to use with teen numbers and 10 frames (plus 9 and 10 to round it out!)  Let me know how it goes with your kiddos.

Thanks Fran, for the great idea!

  3. This is wonderful! I'm planning my community helper unit later this month. I can't thank you enough for all these great resources. I did find one more thing I'll add. Kaye Espinosa gave me the Who Will I Be Today? TLC book. This will fit in with the unit perfectly. 15 projects to choose from.
Thanks for all your hard work!

  4. When I do this activity I call it Mix and Match and play music and when I stop the music they have to sit on the carpet with their partner. Then I switch the cards, play music and they dance around and find their partner then sit. they love it!

  11. Thanks for the cards. I thought the same thing when I was watching Fran, such a great simple idea. Your cards are cute and will be much more fun than the plain cards I have. Thanks again, hope you are feeling better!

  12. Thanks for the cards! I have been using Fran's idea since I "attended" the conference. We've been finding our partner with numbers on cowboy hats (cowboy poetry time here in Elko)

  16. Hi Kathleen! I am loving doing "Partner of the Day" activities in my class too! Thanks for sharing your great ideas and materials. I am using your February song in my calendar binders and I am hoping you will post the March one soon. I tried to look at a past March post, but it wouldn't open the downloads for me. If you won't be posting the March song, could you send it to me? cvance1111@aol.com
    Thanks so much!
