Here are our math and literacy centers for the next 2 weeks!
This is my “Lift the Flap” literacy center – the children lift the flap and try to decode the word based on the letter boxes. I have made a word list for them to help them out a bit!
This is from Donna G.’s Dr. Seuss pack:
We are still working on our America unit (continuing next week!) so there are some America themed centers. This one focuses on contractions and is from Deanna J’s America Pack.
Fun with real and “Dr. Seuss” words! The children roll the three letter cubes with the vowel in the middle, blend the word and determine if it is a real or nonsense word.
The kids LOVE this version of sight word writing! They spin to determine the word, and then spin again to determine what “tool” they will use – markers, colored pencils, or a fancy pencil!
This is my America Ending Sound Sort. The children sort the words based on their ending sound and then write the word in the corresponding spot.
This is at the listening center:
Math Centers:
Dr. Seuss probability:
(Here she is sorting after she has pulled the hats out 10 times to see why one color was pulled out the most!)
Roll, subtract, and color (this one is from Kim A’s Dr. Seuss pack)
Standard and non-standard measuring:
More practice with time to the hour and half-hour. The cards are all flipped over – on the other side are digital and analog clocks to play memory with
Dr. Seuss odd and even. (Sorry not a great shot!)
Spin and Graph! (From Kim A’s pack)
